The Story of Monkey D Luffy | Chapter 14: Rediscovering Myself

I have been living in the world of series since around 2019–2020. The first series I completely finished was the Indian web series Ghoul, I think. But my connection with stories started much earlier than that. From a very young age, I was always drawn to movies. To be honest, I was not just watching them, I was listening to stories.

During my diploma days, I entered a new world, anime. My first completed anime was Death Note. That alone was enough to change how I saw storytelling. Then came the story of Eren Yeager, the man who wanted to eradicate the Titans from his world, only to become a slave to freedom itself. Through these masterpieces, I realized something important. Anime was not just “cartoons.” It was a medium capable of telling stories that live action often cannot. It was pure art.

Before this phase, I had already heard about Gear 5, One Piece episode 1071, and many viral moments through YouTube. But I knew nothing about the actual story. I did not know where to begin. Still, somehow, I started watching what would later become one of the biggest turning points in my life: One Piece.

At first, I dropped it. After finishing the first saga, it did not grip me enough at that time. Yes, Arlong Park is goated, but for some reason, I did not feel like continuing. One of my classmates, Midhul, had already watched almost 80 percent of One Piece. He kept telling me it was something far bigger than I could imagine, but I still did not restart it.

Months later, another friend of mine began watching it. He was the kind of person who loved spreading spoilers. His excitement alone made me curious again. I wanted to know what made One Piece so special, but I did not want to experience it through spoilers. I told myself I would watch it later. That “later” quickly turned into “now.”

After the next saga, I finally caught a glimpse of its greatness. Skypiea, as a whole, felt okay to me, but the ending changed everything. The Poneglyph reveal was a moment that made me stop and think. This was not just an adventure story.

Then came the arc that made One Piece my favorite and one of the greatest stories of my life: Enies Lobby. The declaration of war against the World Government was not just a scene. It was a statement. It was rebellion, emotion, loyalty, and freedom expressed through art. From that moment, I was fully immersed. I entered the world completely and became a true fan of Monkey D. Luffy, the future Pirate King.

In the hacking world, there are different “hat” systems: white hat hackers, black hat hackers, and more. Somehow, my mind connected this concept with One Piece’s main crew, the Straw Hat Pirates. That fusion gave birth to a name: Straw Hat Hackers.

What amazed me the most was this: even after more than 25 years since One Piece began, no one had truly taken that name and carried it to greater heights in the real world. No one had owned it with purpose. At that moment, I made a decision.

This is the team I want to build.
This is the name I choose to carry forward.

And that name is STRAWHAT HACKERS.
