StrawHat Hackers

Venimus, Vidimus, Vicimus

So, let’s talk about the founding of Strawhat Hackers… but if you want to know that story, then there’s no option left for us we have to go back a few years, back when I was studying in 10th standard.

But the cause started much earlier. I think I started my first YouTube channel in 8th standard, and it was on topics like knowledge sharing. But what I really wanted was to create a YouTube channel that told horror stories in Malayalam. I got a lot of inspiration from Beypore Sulthan, a Malayalam YouTuber. But the problem was that it felt too advanced from my perspective and it actually was. I couldn’t afford that kind of equipment at the time, and I wasn’t interested in asking my parents for a huge YouTube studio setup.

So I continued, but the content quality and video quality were too low in my point of view, and the background of my videos was just my house, which caused a lot of disturbance for viewers and other such issues. Another problem was that I was studying in ICSE, and the syllabus was so tough and bookish, it felt tough because of how bookish it was.

During exam time, I couldn’t create videos, and eventually, I stopped posting, as I was concerned about the video quality and the huge gap between my dream and the actual output. Now, you might wonder, why the horror category? Why didn’t I just continue the current content and improve the video quality a bit?

The thing is, I genuinely enjoyed telling horror stories. In fact, when I was in 4th or 5th grade, I had a hobby of narrating horror stories to my classmates and scaring them. Most of the stories I told were taken from Churulazhiyatha Rahasyangal in the Balarama magazine.

I realized that, at that time, I couldn’t pull off my dream. But I had already decided, I wanted that fame, and I wanted to be someone who stood out from the crowd.

Yes, I will be a YouTuber.
